This picture I found to be pretty absurd but true. You look at this picture and see the same little girl from a very popular movie. However, you realize there really is a difference in how children are today. Media portrays a perfect look for teens and everyone in children. Today, many children want to meet the criteria of the media at an extremely young age. There are a lot more children worrying about their weight and figure at a very young age for example. These looks are very deceiving and many children and adolescents start falling for them. The image for this generation isn’t too great in my eyes because it is extremely revealing and all it really is sex, drugs, pregnancies, etc. It is horrifying that many songs and shows involved lyrics about drugs (Eg. Molly) and they are so popular in young teens. And there are many movies and reality shows about pregnant teenagers. In a way they are portraying all of this as “what is in” at the moment and younger teenagers get the wrong idea. I don’t think I am old at all but I do know I don’t like the way this generation is becoming to be and I know for a fact I wouldn’t want my children in the future to grow up in a generation like this one. All the innocence is gone and children just can’t wait to grow up when they can take that time to enjoy the little things like going to the park and just activities.
